Women working in a man's world, 29 year-old Philippa Tuttiett explains the inside track on what it's like working as a builder � where the work clothes don't fit and her friends think she paints all day long.

I love the practicality of my job. I start on Monday morning with an empty shell of a room. By the end of the day, I can have a lovely gleaming bathroom in there. It's a very rewarding job.

I do a bit of everything � I don't touch plumbing or electrics � I�m a plasterer, a carpenter; I do tiling, bricklaying and all sorts.

My granddad and father were both builders so it was kind of in the blood. I used to follow my dad around when he was pottering around and ask lots of questions. The day I asked him for pocket money he said I could have some, but I'd have to work for it so I started helping him.
