Equality Act 2010: codes of practice laid before Parliament
Codes of practice on employment and equal pay under the Equality Act 2010, designed to clearly explain both the obligations for employers and the rights of individuals, have been laid before Parliament.
The codes, written by the Equality and Human Rights Comission, replace existing codes on discrimination law that applied before the Act came into force.
Most of the Equality Act was introduced on 1 October 2010, although dual discrimination claims and gender pay reporting are expected to come in at a later date.
