20 years since Stephen Lawrence report: What has changed?

Two decades have passed since the groundbreaking Macpherson report exposed institutional racism in the Metropolitan Police, and there is a lot left to do according to this Runnymede briefing.

The 1999 report followed an inquiry into the official handling of the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence. The innocent black teenager was violently attacked and left for dead by several white men (only two of whom were ever imprisoned for the crime, many years later) in Eltham in 1998.

Stephen's mother, now Baroness Doreen Lawrence, has never stopped campaigning for justice following her son's death. She agrees that little has changed in 20 years.
