The North East Equality Awards celebrates its 11th anniversary
Equality North East is proud to announce that the 2014 North East Equality Awards is open for applications from 1st May 2014.
In 2014 North East Equality Awards celebrates 11 years of outstanding equality and diversity practices across the public, private and not for profit sectors.
This year we have seen unparalleled success by Team GB at the Winter Paralympics in Sochi and the success that any individual can accomplish given the right opportunities.
It is important to recognise the achievements of local organisations, individuals and groups in embedding equality and diversity in day to day working practices leading the way to a fairer future for all.
Details on how to make an application for the awards can be found online
There are categories appropriate to companies of all sizes as well as individuals and groups. These include:
� Employers of up to 50 Staff
� Employers of between 51 and 250 staff
� Educational and Training Organisations of up to 50 Staff
� Educational and Training Organisations of Over 50 Staff
� Outstanding Contribution by a Larger Organisation
� Individuals Who Have Made a Difference
� Groups who have made a difference
� TUC~unionlearn
� Organisations Supporting Disabled People in Employment
Closing date for applications is Friday 25th July 2014. Equality North East will be hosting support days for applicants to receive guidance and advice on completing applications. Please see the Equality North East website for further information.
Following the judging process, winners will be announced at the Awards dinner scheduled to take place at the Gosforth Marriott Hotel on Friday 17th October.
