Implementing Your Policy
You have now developed and agreed your Equal Opportunities Policy, a Policy that will provide for:-
- Full representation in terms of staff, directors, members and volunteers.
- Fair and effective employment practices.
- Services that is accessible and sensitive to the needs of trainees and members.
But the Equal Opportunities Policy is a live and working document.
The contents of the Policy need to be implemented.
The task of implementing each of the Codes of Practice, and or Guidelines will be best achieved by those individuals who will be responsible for ensuring that the Policy is carried out.
- Re-visit the issues or areas compiled for the Planning Group and consider these in the light of the agreed Codes of Practice and or Guidelines.
- Decide who will have responsibility for ensuring the implementation of each of the actions.
- For each action, work out what resources will be required in terms of people, time, money, equipment etc.
- Decide whether actions are short term or long term.
AND FINALLY
Agree on a timescale for the implementation of each of the actions.
