disABLE to work

NEtWorking for Change are hosting a series of workshops, Removing barriers, challenging perceptions. The EHRC came into operation in October 2007 and Equality legislation is undergoing its biggest shake up for 30 years. This series of workshops are aimed at tackling stereotypes, busting myths and challenging participants' perceptions.

How can we best help Incapacity claimants?

Incapacity Benefit (IB) claimants are by far the largest group of non-employed benefit claimants of working age. Across Britain as a whole, there are more than 2.6 million IB claimants - up nearly two million on a generation ago. IB claimants outnumber the unemployed on Jobseeker’s Allowance by more than three-to-one.

The Equality and Human Rights Commision: Developing the Ties That Bind Fairness for All

With the long awaited launch in October 2007 of the new Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Government has signalled a new era of championing equal opportunities for all, the protection of human rights and tackling discrimination at all levels and on all grounds be it race, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation/identity, religion or belief.
