Restaurant owner fined £3,500 for minimum wage failings
A Nottingham restaurant owner has been successfully prosecuted for National Minimum Wage offences.
Zaheer Iqbar Ibrahim, proprietor of the Jewel in the Crown restaurant, was fined £3,500 with £100 costs having been found guilty of neglecting to produce appropriate records to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) compliance officers.
Officers were attempting to establish whether former employees had been paid the National Minimum Wage.
